Lync For Mac 2011 Join Meeting
Jun 05, 2013 Fixes an issue in which you cannot join an online meeting. This issue occurs when you use a device that has Lync for Mac 2011 installed. To schedule an online meeting, you need Outlook for Mac 2011 14.1.3 update or later and Lync for Mac. To check to see if you need to get the latest version of Outlook, on the Help menu, click Check for Updates, click Manually, and then Check for Updates.
Lync for Mac 2011 will be available to customers as a part of the Office for Mac 2011 Volume Licensing SKU, Office for Mac Standard 2011, or through other Microsoft's licensing programs. 
Add others to an active call: From the In Call screen, select Menu and then select Add others. Enter a number or select a contact then press Add. Transfer a call directly to someone else: From the In Call screen select Menu, and then select Transfer Directly To. Enter a number or select a contact, and then select Call. Consult with someone before transferring a call: From the In Call screen, select Menu, and then select Consult then Transfer To.

The response so far is: The MacOS update (Mountain Lion) made some changes to SSL on the Mac which caused some issues with TLS negotiations on the Lync for Mac 2011 client. To resolve this we released a patch yesterday (14.0.4) for the Lync for Mac 2011 client which has, so far, provided good results for another customer that was experiencing the same meeting join issue that you were.

February 6 Update: (Happy Birthday Sophia!) After writing this post, we posted the 14.0.4 update for the Lync for Mac client -. The customer and I are still monitoring his situation but initially it looks positive.

The reason this started with Chrome 22 is that we dropped support for legacy graphics and event models (QuickDraw and Carbon, respectively) that have been deprecated for several years. To remain compatible with Mac Chrome 22+, plugins need to negotiate the new CoreGraphics and Cocoa models. Almost all the popular plugins have updated over the last several years, and I had reached out to the vendors of plugins I was aware to let them know. I hadn't heard of this plugin, so I hadn't contacted them. The fix here is for them to release an updated version of their plugin.
